Pakistan: Banned BLA claims responsibility for killing tribal leader Mir Attaur Rehman Mengal
The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) outfit has claimed responsibility for killing tribal leader Mir Attaur Rehman Mengal in Pakistan's Khuzdar district.
Mir Attaur Rehman Mengal, son of Mir Muhammad Naseer Mengal, was on a hunting trip in the mountainous Aranji Awak area of Khuzdar along with his companions including a son, Mutiur Rehman, when his vehicle came under fire, reported The Express Tribune.
In a statement issued on Monday, a BLA spokesperson said the group conducted the attack, which killed Mr Mengal along with his colleagues, reported Dawn News.
According to reports, Attaur Rehman died on the spot.
Some eyewitnesses told The Express Tribune that over two dozen armed miscreants took part in the attack.
After the attack, security officials rushed to the spot.
The deceased and the injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital.
