Amazon India to enter quick commerce with 15-minute delivery pilot in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Amazon India is preparing to launch a 15-minute delivery service in Bengaluru later this month, which will mark its entry into the rapidly growing quick commerce market, The Economic Times reported.

Amit Agarwal, Amazon’s senior Vice-President for India and emerging markets, highlighted the rising demand among urban consumers for faster delivery of everyday essentials.

“Starting December, we’ll roll out this 15-minute delivery service in Bengaluru,” he said.

This will be Amazon’s first-ever global venture into 15-minute delivery. While the service name has not been disclosed, the initial phase will offer between 1,000 and 2,000 products, with plans to expand to additional cities over time, according to the report.

Amazon now joins five other major players in India’s quick commerce sector, a market that generates over $6 billion annually and operates primarily across 24 cities. Key competitors include BlinkIt (owned by Zomato), Swiggy, and Zepto, backed by Nexus. Industry projections by Morgan Stanley estimate that India’s quick commerce market could grow to $42 billion by 2030.

Myntra, a leading player in India’s fashion e-commerce space, has introduced a pilot program for its quick commerce initiative in Bengaluru.

The service, branded as M-Now, promises delivery of fashion and lifestyle products within 30 minutes. Currently, it features a catalog of 10,000 styles spanning categories such as fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, with offerings from brands like Vero Moda, MANGO, Tommy Hilfiger, MAC, and Bobbi Brown, reported TechCrunch.

Owned by Flipkart, Myntra serves around 70 million monthly customers. The company plans to scale M-Now to over 100,000 styles within the next three to four months and expand the service to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune in the near future.
