Assam Rifles bust PLA's extortion racket
Imphal: Keithelmanbi Battalion, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), busted PLA extortion racket by apprehending three PLA cadres with a considerable amount of war-like stores.
These cadres were extorting money from the local populace of Canchipur and surrounding areas on behalf of the Proscribed group.
One 9mm Pistol along with two magazines & 30 rounds of ammunition, two Chinese hand grenades & one detonator was recovered from the PLA Cadres.
These war like stores were being used by them to intimidate people who were selected as targets for extortion.
This operation delivered a blow to the proscribed outfit hindering it's funding day-to-day sustenance.
