Over 450,000 Pakistanis leave country in search of better jobs: Reports

By IBNS
Oct 23, 2023..

A large number of young Pakistanis are trying to move abroad in search of a better future as the South Asian country continues to struggle in the face of a slump in the economy and hyperinflation.

The young Pakistanis are reportedly desperately trying to seek  employment and scholarship opportunities abroad.

More than 450,000 Pakistanis have left their country in search of better job opportunities overseas in the first half of 2023, according to official data as quoted by Gulf News.

Nazeer Ahmed, a young banking professional, left his job and departed for the United Kingdom last year in search of a brighter future told the newspaper: "The economic conditions and uncertainties left me no choice. I had to find a way out."

“The salaried class is working hard, but the disparity between what we earn and what it takes to have a decent life continues to widen” he explained.

The exodus during the first seven months of 2023 (January to July) has seen 450,110 Pakistanis leave their homeland in pursuit of work opportunities abroad, according to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, reported Gulf News.

This includes a diverse mix of individuals from various professional backgrounds and qualifications.
