Protesters block roads in Pakistan's Taxila to demonstrate against rising street crimes
Protesters blocked Taxila-Khanpur road in Pakistan over failure to check crime in the region by Taxila police.
The protesters complained there had been a spike in robbery and snatching incidents in the area.
Local people as well as shopkeepers parked their vehicles in the middle of the Taxila-Khanpur road and staged a protest against the broad daylight robbery incidents, reported Dawn News.
Traffic movement was disrupted in the area amid demonstrations.
A protester, Khalid Malik, told Dawn News that a few days ago a young milkman was shot dead for resisting a robbery in Taxila and the police failed to trace the culprits.
The protesters later decided to end their demonstration following a successful negotiation with the police.
