Bengaluru: Engineering student allegedly raped by college mate inside men's washroom, accused arrested
Bengaluru/IBNS: An engineering student has been allegedly raped by her college mate inside a men's washroom on the campus of a private institution in Bengaluru, media reports said.

Twenty-one-year-old Jeevan Gowda, a sixth semester student, has been arrested for the crime. He was taken into police custody on Wednesday.
He has been remanded to judicial custody since then, police said.
The alleged incident occurred on October 10 when Gowda took the survivor to the washroom and raped her.
The two were previously classmates until Gowda lagged behind due to academic backlog.
On the day of the alleged incident, Gowda had called the survivor during lunch break and asked her to meet him near the architecture block on the seventh floor.
When she arrived on the spot, Gowda reportedly tried to kiss her and when she tried to flee using the lift, he followed her to the sixth floor.
Then Gowda allegedly dragged the survivor to the washroom and sexually assaulted her. The incident reportedly happened at a time between 1:30 pm and 1:50 pm.
The First Information Report (FIR) report says Gowda had locked the washroom and also confiscated her mobile phone during the assault.
The complaint was filed five days later on October 15.
The survivor had confided in two of her friends but was initially hesitant to report the incident. But later, she told her parents who took her to file a complaint at the Hanumanthanagar Police Station.
Though forensic and digital evidence have been gathered, absence of CCTV cameras on the floor may make the investigation complicated.
The crime scene was reconstructed on Thursday, police said.
