Global Affairs expert Ian Bremmer feels India is better positioned than EU in current geopolitics
Global Affairs expert Ian Bremmer feels that India is better positioned in the world order than the European Union in the absence of global leadership and the multipolarity likely to be created due to US President Donald Trump's tariff decisions.

“Certainly geopolitically, India is in a better position right now than the European Union, for example,” Bremmer said in an exclusive conversation with India Today TV.
“India has very strong relations with Japan, pretty strong relations with Australia, and very stable relations, functional relations with Europe. Canada was the only big problem in the West and that's been resolved somewhat by new Prime Minister Mark Carney,” he told the Indian news channel.
The global geopolitical shift became evident this year after Trump, who came to power last year after winning the polls, announced the imposition of tariffs on imports from many trade partners.
The relationship between India and the US has reached a low point over the Donald Trump-led administration's decision to impose 50 percent tariffs on New Delhi.
Following the tariff imposition, several nations have voiced their concerns over the issue.
In recent international summits, India, China and Russia have come together, apparently sending out a strong message to the US.
"Well, there is an emerging multipolarity that will become stronger over time, but we're not there yet. The world today is what I call a G zero world. It's an absence of global leadership. The US does not want to promote global collective security. It doesn't want to lead to free trade, promote foreign aid or democracy, and the rule of law. But no other country is prepared to take America's space," Bremmer told India Today.
