A police case has been filed against Swami Chaitanyananda for harassing 19 students, who were pursuing post-graduate management diploma courses.

At least 17 of 32 students have recorded their statements with police accusing Swami Chaitanyananda of using abusive language, sending lewd text messages and making forced physical contact, NDTV reported.

The victims have alleged that women faculty and administrative staff pressured them to agree with the demands of the accused.

The accused is still at large.

Police have scanned the CCTV footage and conducted raids at the accused's address and the crime spot.

Police have recovered his car with a forged diplomatic number plate.

The ashram administration has expelled Swami Chaitanyanand from his post after the accusations against him were levelled.

The Dakshinamnaya of Sri Sharada Peetha, Sringeri, that runs the Delhi unit, said Swami Chaitanyanand's conduct was inappropriate and it has severed all ties with him.
