Crucial meeting of three opposition parties including CPI (M), Congress and Tipra-Motha held at a assembly office in Agartala on August 12 to finalise their alliance to contest the assembly by-polls in Boxanagar and Dhanpur constituencies. During the meeting leader of the opposition in assembly, Animesh Debbarma, CPI(M) state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chowdhury, Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha, Congress MLAs Sudip Roy Barman, Gopal Roy and two senior CPI(M) leaders Manik Dey and Ratan Bhowmik were present.
