Two months enough to oust BJP govt from Tripura, says TMC’s new state president
After joining in the fold of Trinamool Congress (TMC) in New Delhi in presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Pradesh Congress president Pijush Kanti Biswas and other leaders were welcomed by the state unit of TMC and Biswas was also announced state president of TMC.
While, after receiving ceremony, Biswas accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev and state in-charge Rajib Banerjee addressing a press conference here at TMC headquarters in Agartala on Sunday afternoon said that except TMC there are no options in the state to oust the BJP from power.
Biswas strongly castigating the leaders of his former party Congress said during his tenure as PCC president he never got any support or co-operation from the rank and file of state’s Congress leadership to rejuvenate the century-old party.
Cross-section of people wanted to my contribution as Congressman to revive the party, but the inner fights among faction of Congress has spoiled the party, said Biswas and added that ultimately he decided to join TMC for greater interest of state’s people for all out fight against oppression politics of BJP and its anti-people government.
TMC has only the platform to do something for welfare of state’s people under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, said Biswas and added that during the last 15 years TMC has shown the country by fulfilling all of their poll commitments for the betterment of people.
He said that there is very little time, but they are very much confident and within the next two and half months through greater movements, the people of the state will definitely oust the ‘autocratic’ BJP.
All the leaders and workers of TMC through relentless works in association of state’s people will restore the rules of law and an era of development in the state, said Biswas.
Biswas also said that the majority of the state’s population want oust the BJP government, but they do not have proper platform against BJP and now they understand that only TMC can change the BJP government and set a popular government in Tripura.
Later, in the press meet Purnita Chakma, former working president of Pradesh Congress, who also joined TMC on December 7th last in New Delhi, said that she is very much hopeful a change will come into the state under the banner of TMC.
