A prisoner committed suicide by hanging inside Central Jail or Kendriya Sanshodhanagar at Pravurampur in Bishalgarh subdivision on Wednesday morning.

 Sources said that a convicted prisoner, identified as Dilip Debbarma (43) used to stay at Udiyaman block of Kendriya Sanshodhanagar. In the morning as usual he came to the office  of Sanshodhanagar for cleaning of toilets of the office room and at 9 AM he was found hanging by the Jail staff.

The jail authority informed the matter to Bishalgarh police station and police rushed to the place of place and e sent the body to hospital morgue for autopsy by registering an unnatural death case.

Police have also sought the CCTV footage of the jail for verification.
