AR seized large quantities of cannabis, destroyed plants
The Agartala battalion of Assam Rifles seized 150 kilograms of Marijuana (Ganja),worth Rs 55 lakh and also destroyed large scale cultivation of Marijuana plants in the forest area of Kamalnagar under Sepahijala district on Saturday.
Assam Rifles sources said that based on the input received from their own sources that hiding of large scale illegal Marijuana contraband items at general areas of Kamalnagar village, a joint operation was launched by the party of Agartala Battalion of AR with representatives of Department of Revenue Intelligence (RI) and police forces.
The operation party in addition to seizing 150 kg of Ganja also destroyed approximately 14,000 to 15,000 cannabis plants costing approximately Rs 15.50 lakh, which were planted in 12 acres of forest land of Kamalnagar.
