City police arrested 5 drug paddlers with Brown Sugar

As part of their anti-drug operation, the Agartala city police on Tuesday arrested five drug paddlers from Battala bridge area and recovered Brown Sugar under their possession.
Giving details of SDPO (Sadar) Ajoy Kumar Das said that police are receiving complaints of narcotic trade in the Battala bridge area and based on the complaint, the OC of West Agartala police station Jayanta Kumar Dey and OC of Battala TOP Tapan Das in a planned manner raided at the spot an managed to detain five drug paddlers and has also recovered numbers of Brown Sugar vials under their possession.
Five arrested paddlers were identified as Sushanta Chakraborty of Amtali, Amin Miah of Rajnagar, Sibhu Datta of Durga Choumohani, Prasenjit Barman of Pratpagarh and Sandip Saha of Chowdhury Mill area of Bordowali. Das said that a specific case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) has been registered and further investigation is going to unearth drug smugglers' nexus.
