CM appeals for maintaining of CAB, 4 more tested positive in past 24-hrs
Amidst surge of Covid positive cases in different parts of the country and detection of few cases in Tripura, the Chief Minister Dr Manik Sahar on Wednesday appealed to the people to strictly maintain Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and wearing of face masks.
Speaking with media persons during a programme at Bodhjungnagar industrial area on Wednesday, Dr Saha said that he is aware of all the development of Covid cases and detection of fresh infection in the state. He said that as advised and guidelines framed by the Union Health Ministry, the state’s Health department are following these to contain the spread of infection, but people have to be very cautious over maintaining CAB and using face masks.
He said that everybody should maintain the guidelines to contain the spread of injection masses and added that in case of any eventuality of spreading infection, the Health department is ready to tackle the situation.
While, a surge of fresh Covid positive cases after a gap of few months, the state on Tuesday has detected eight Covid positive cases from West Tripura and Unakoti districts of the state and again on Wednesday has also detected one more positive case from West Tripura district.
As per the media bulletin on Covid-19 issued by the Health department on April 19 stated that with detection of 4 more positive cases, the total active cases of the state now stand at 15 with zero death in the past 24 hours.
Sources in the Health department of Unakoti district said that on April 15, the Panisagar hospital of the district tested and found three positive cases and among them one has travel history from Maharashtra state. All three positive patients were put on ‘home isolation’ with the necessary treatment kit.
As per media bulletin, the death toll of Covid now stand at 937 with a fatality rate of 0.87 % and after testing 581 samples through RTPCT and Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), three positive cases detected from West Tripura district and one more from Khowai district in past 24-hours with positivity rate of 0.69%. Now, the recovery rate of the state stands at 99.06 %.
Though few parts of the country have seen a spike in coronavirus cases in the recent past, hospitalization remains low. Experts have maintained that there is no need to panic and people should follow Covid-appropriate behaviour and get booster shots of vaccines. Medical experts say the new XBB.1.16 variant of the virus could be driving the surge in many parts of the country.
