CM express satisfaction over export clearance of Tripura’s agar wood
The Agar oil produced in Tripura is all set to be exported to foreign as it gets clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed happiness over the new development and in a social media post he said “In Tripura, the Agarwood industry has taken a step forward. Now, Tripura’s agarwood is set to be exported to foreign soil. I express my gratitude to India’s Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.
Agarwood, known for its aromatic properties and high demand in perfumery and traditional medicine, has the potential to become a significant product in the region. The export industry, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has granted approval for the export of 2.5 kilograms of Agar Oil by M/S Mamon Enterprises his groundbreaking move is accompanied by a valid permit from the CITES.
However, this approval opens new avenues for the Agarwood industry in Tripura, boosting the state's economy and facilitating the export of Agarwood products on a global scale.
This momentous decision not only signifies a step forward in promoting sustainable Agarwood cultivation but also showcases India's commitment to responsible trade in endangered species. It is expected that this export approval will serve as a catalyst for the growth of the Agarwood industry in Tripura, bringing economic prosperity and recognition to the state on the international stage.
