CM’s surprise visit to PWD office, alerted employees over their responsibilities
In a surprise visit to the Netaji Choumohani complex of the PWD office on Saturday, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed his dissatisfaction over the functioning of the office complex and its employees.

After his visit and inspections, the Chief Minister speaking with media persons said "I am not happy and many of the office employees were absent."
As PWD minister, my surprised visit aims to enquire the problems of the state office complex, but many of them were absent and they were not communicated properly over the functioning of office, said Dr Saha and added that he will speak to the authorities and the department as a service provider have to provide the service to the people of the state.
In a media question, Dr Saha said this is not his first surprise visit, earlier he had visited many offices and reviewed the situation and functioning of these offices. "I will continue my office visit in other parts of the state and will visit any government office to enquire if the services of the people are properly going on or are the employees working properly".
We want to change the old habits of poor work culture and the government working round the clock to establish a good work culture in all government offices, said the Chief Minister and that proper monitoring is very essential and all authorities should ensure the services for people up to the mark.
"The law is not the last ward, the employees have to understand their responsibilities and their accountability towards the people," said Dr Saha and added that the department have to enquire about the absent of the employees, maybe there are genuine reasons, but the department will investigate the matter why they were absent from office during office hours.
Highlighting the state level special campaign “Prati Ghore Susashan” (good governance at every household) to ensure benefits of various state and central schemes for the people of the state, Dr Saha said that the employees have to be understand the aim of their government and should render their services for the people.
p>He hoped that the employees in other offices would be on alert over surprise visits of concerned ministers and should maintain the office timing and their duties.He said that a minister cannot, under the real picture sitting in office; he or she has to visit fields to get actual information on the functioning of any government office, which will give a good prospect to the government to make future decisions.
He reiterated any time he can visit any government office of the state to ensure the proper functioning of government offices.
During his surprise visit, the Chief Minister visited every office room of the PWD complex and spoke to the employees present at that time. He also enquired about their problems and urged employees to maintain office timing and to complete their works in time for better services.
Later, Dr Saha asked the authorities to present an enquiry report over loopholes, which had been noticed by him.
