Crime Branch PS to act also Anti-narcotic task force PS
The Tripura police Crime Branch police station will now function as an Anti-Narcotic task force police station, said a notification from the Home department.
As per the notification issued by Home department said that this police station has jurisdiction in the entire state under the charges of one Dy.SP rank officer, who will act under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPc)-1973 Act.
The notification also said that the Crime Branch police station will investigate such cases, which need special technical skills and those are not possible from general police stations .
In the primary stage based on the nature of the crime, the Tripura police Crime Branch or the Anti-Narcotic Task Force can investigate the case after approval from DGP. Apart from these, the Crime Branch can assist with their technical support to any case registered at any of the police stations of the state and the in-charge officer of the Crime Branch will review the investigation of all cases once in three months. After the issuance of gazette notification, this order will be applicable, said the notification.
