Daring burglary in crowded Shivnagar area of city, valuable items looted
Amidst one after one stolen incidents across Agartala city, the a group of thieves in a daring attempt has raided at the thickly populated Shivnagar area under East Agartala police station in the wee hours of Thursday and looted away all valuable items including cash and jewelleries from a house.
Sources said that in the wee hours of Thursday at about 3.45 AM, two thieves with sharp weapons raided the rented house of one Jayanta Narayan Singha at Shivnagar area , near Modern club and by breaking the doors, they entered into the bedrooms of the house.
Thieves then broke a store well and looted away a cash amount of Rs. 5 lakh, many gold jewellery items and some gem stones with some important documents of bank.
When thieves raided the house, the inmates of the house including government employee Jayanta Narayan Singha and his wife noticed the raid, but they could not raise the alarm due to fear. They immediately informed the house owner Rajib Sen through mobile phone and within ten minutes, the house owner rushed to the spot with a few other local people, but thieves escaped from the spot after looting all valuable items.
Later, police also arrived at the spot and by registering a case, they started an investigation. Till last report, there was no information about thieves, though, the house owner submitted CCTV footage, which clearly shows the entire activities of thieves.
