ECI gears up for 2023 assembly polls in Tripura, dispatches new EVMs
The Election Commission of India (ECI) as part of its preparation of 2023 assembly elections in Tripura , a total of 4800 EVMs, 4900 VVPATs and same number of control units dispatched in the state and these machines has also arrived in the state capital.
The elections to Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland are expected to be held in February next year after the Assembly polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
In presence of the representatives of the different political parties, the Election department has stored these EVMs here at the strong rooms of Umakanta Academy with adequate security measures and these EVMs would be shifted to all the subdivisions of the state.
The official said that the National level Master Trainers (NLMT) appointed by the Election Commission last week have given training to all the eight District Magistrates and Additional District Magistrates on every important matter for the proper management of the election.
