Factional feud among BJP supporters in Krishnapur constituency, minister denied allegations
Soon after announcement of Lok Sabha election results on June 4th last, along with stray incidents of attacks and ransacking of properties belonging to opposition supporters, the factional feud among the supporters of ruling BJP is now unabated.
The factional feud and clashes among the supporters of the BJP has been reported from different parts of the state and on Thursday, the Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma rushed to Teliamura police station to defuse tension and for settlement of disputes among rival supporters of BJP from 29-Krishnapur assembly constituency.
Sources said that Minister Bikas Debbarma himself has come to the ground to cover up the bloody clash in Krishnapur assembly constituency held on Wednesday night among rival supporters of BJP.
The minister rushed to Teliamura police station as soon as the news of the incident spread among the party workers.
Sources alleged that after the results of the Lok Sabha elections were announced, some of the BJP leaders of Krishnapur, nurtured under the umbrella of the minister, descended into bloody clashes due to extreme factional conflicts.
As the incidents of self-party BJP workers attacking each other in Krishnapur assembly, on the other hand, due to this incident, BJP's Khowai district secretary Bijan Kar, who is known as the shadow partner of minister Bikash Debbarma, and one other person, including Krishnapur Yuva Morcha president Nirmal Debnath, were accused of assaulting to a section of the BJP. The activists approached Teliamura police station on Thursday. As this unrest and factional strife among BJP workers peaked, the Minister himself started running to Teliamura police station. The minister's marathon meeting at Teliamura police station went on for a long time on Thursday.
However, in the context of this whole incident, Minister Debbarma turned the scattered incidents of Krishnapur in a different direction and suppressed them in the face of media questions.
Speaking with media persons inside Teliamura police station, Bikash Debbarma denied any allegation of factional feud and claimed that he often visits police station to maintain peace in his assembly constituency and there are no reports of any confrontation among BJP supporters.
