Failed to pay land acquisition amount, court sealed ADM (Sepahijala) office

After failing to pay prices of land acquisition for construction of government offices, the additional district judge (ADJ) of Sepahijala district on Monday sealed and attached the properties of Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of the district.

Sources said that on July 30, 2024, the ADJ of the district ordered to seal  the office of the land acquisition collector (LAC) of the Additional District Magistrate of Sepahijala district on Monday afternoon and attached the properties of the office.

Sources said that the office of Sepahijala District Magistrate (DM) was constructed at the place of a company called Anil Plantation Private Limited.

After the Anil Plantation Private Limited failed to get their land acquisition payment from LAC office, filed a case in a court in 2020. The value of the place was more than 5 crore rupees. During the long litigation, the Additional District Judge passed the judgment on July 30, 2024 and on Monday afternoon, Sepahijala ADM office was sealed after court order and will continue till land acquisition payment is not fulfilled.

The lawyers employed by Anil Plantation Private Limited said that the office will remain locked until the real owner gets the right price.
