Free and fair poll, INDIA Bloc trying to mislead people: BJP
The ruling BJP has denied all the claims made by the candidates of INDIA alliance, Congress MLA and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar as some baseless news and information were spread by them.
Addressing a press conference at state BJP headquarters in Agartala on Friday evening after polls, state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee said the same and added that these leaders tried their level best to mislead the common people.
He also said that the INDI alliance leaders, Congress, CPM leaders were badly rejected by the common people not only this time but also in the Tripura Legislative Assembly Election 2023 as well. Hence they accepted defeat this time as well and this is why they tried to humiliate the ruling party by spreading this kind of baseless news. He also added that a written complaint was already given to the Election Commission regarding the fake information against the party and if necessary more steps will be taken by BJP as per law.
They have always made sure that common people are misled in the past as well. However this time they have got a proper answer from the common people through the number of votes being casted. He added that as per the report from the Election Commission a total of 81.23% votes were casted till 7pm while votes were still being casted in 321 polling stations as huge queues were seen outside these polling stations.
The highest numbers of votes were casted in 35 Belonia Assembly Constituency. On the other hand a total of 71.26% votes were in the By-Election at 7 Ramnagar Assembly Seat. He has thanked all the Voters, Election Commission of India, Police department, Administration, Booth workers along with the media personnel. He also believed that the path shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was followed by the voters of this state and each and everyone has voted with utter enthusiasm.
