Govt has taken initiative to make state self-sufficient in animal feed production: ARDD Minister
The government has taken initiatives to make the state self-sufficient in animal feed production. To make this initiative a success, the officials of Animal Resources Development Department have to work more earnestly. ARDD Minister Sudhangshu Das said this at a review meeting of Animal Resources Development, Fisheries and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department at the conference hall of Belonia Circuit House on Friday.
Local MLA Pramod Reang, MLA Mailaifru Mog, MLA Swapna Majumdar, Sabhadhipati of South Tripura Zilla Parishad Kakali Das Dutta, Chairperson of Belonia Municipal Council Nikhil Chandra Gope, Chairperson of Santirbazar Municipal Council Swapna Baidya, Chairmen of Panchayat Samiti of 8 Blocks of South District, Principal Secretary of Animal Resources Development and Fisheries Department BS Mishra, District Magistrate of South Tripura Saju Vaheed A and senior officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, Animal Resources Development and Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das said that poor people should be made financially self-reliant by making them engage in production of fish, meat, milk and eggs. Proper care should be taken to ensure that genuine fish farmers and animal husbandry are not deprived while selecting beneficiaries. At the meeting, Animal Resources Development and Fisheries Minister emphasized on encouraging the beneficiaries to engage in commercial animal husbandry and fisheries. He also emphasized on rehabilitating the degraded water bodies of the district and making them suitable for fish farming to increase fish production. The Minister also said that the students from Scheduled Caste community should be given attention to so that they can avail the benefit of stipend regularly and various government schemes.
