Govt working for the welfare of the helpless and weaker sections of the society, SE Minister
The Department of Social Welfare and Social Education has been working for the welfare of the helpless and weaker sections of the society and dissemination of social assistance to actual beneficiaries is the priority of the department, said Minister Tinku Roy.
The public representatives have a significant role to play in delivering the benefits of all these schemes and services of the department to the actual beneficiaries, said the Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy at a workshop held with the people's representatives of West Tripura district in the conference hall of Pensioners Awas Asharya in Kunjaban, Agartala on September 14.
This workshop was held regarding various schemes and services of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department. Elected representatives of the district participated in the workshop. Inaugurating the workshop, the Social Welfare Minister also said that public representatives are the servants of the people. So, the public representatives should be informed about the schemes and services of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department.
He expressed hope that this workshop will help the public representatives to gain experience about the schemes and services of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department. He said that many people are not aware about the schemes and services of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department. It is the responsibility of public representatives to present these schemes and services to the public.
In-charge Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Haridulal Acharya spoke among others at the inaugural programme of the workshop. Additional Director of Social Welfare and Social Education Department L. Hrangchal gave the welcome speech. In the workshop, various schemes and services of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education were discussed by Joint Director of the Department Arun Debbarma, Joint Director John Calvin Debbarma, Joint Director Dr. Chandrani Biswas and Deputy Commissioner for Disabilities Achintam Kilikder. Members of West Tripura Zilla Parishad, Chairman and Vice Chairman of different Panchayat Samiti and Chairman of Panchayats of the district participated in the workshop.
