Jitendra Chaudhury demands expansion of health services in Sabroom
Opposition CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury in a letter to the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha urged for expansion of health services in Sabroom assembly constituency of South Tripura district.
Chaudhury in a letter to the Chief Minister on Tuesday said that being the representative of the southernmost assembly constituency (40- Sabroom) of the state has highlighted some genuine health issues of the constituency and the Sabroom subdivision as a whole.
“The people of the Sabroom subdivision feel very much proud that due to best efforts of previous governments they have been blessed by a palatial hospital building at Sabroom, the sub divisional hospital. Now, the built capacity of the same has to be optimally utilized too.”
He said that Sabroom town is emerging soon as an important international destination, following the inauguration of Indo-Bangla Maitree Setu, hence expansion of health infrastructures has become very essential, beside other services.
Chaudhury in his letter has demanded opening of a fast referral unit in Sabroom sub divisional hospital, appointment of MD(Medicines) with appointment of Anesthesiologist and Sonologist, at least one each that Gynecological operation could be started soon, operationalization of the Blood Bank for which infrastructure is already in place, up-gradation of the Manughat PHC at Ratanmani, Betaga ADC Village as 24 X 7 Hospital, considering its remoteness and dire needs.
He also demanded up-gradation of Bankul PHC as Community Hospital, which deserves recognition for its geographical location and size of population and up-gradation of Srinagar PHC as Community Hospital, as it is the only Hospital in entire Poang Bari R.D. Block area.
Chaudhury hoped that the office of the Chief Minister would be generous enough on the proposals considering the geographical importance of Sabroom subdivision.
