Jitendra Chaudhury files complaint with DGP against murderous attack on a youth at Matabari
In a letter to the DGP, the CPI (M) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury has filed a complaint with details of a murderous attack on a party worker and demanding immediate arrest of miscreants responsible for the attack.
Chaudhury in his letter to the DGP Amitabh Ranjan said that one of their youth party worker was attacked by a group of miscreants at Matabari area of Udaipur on Tuesday, who is now suffering for life at GB Hospital.
“Like many CPI(M) supporter youths of the state, One Ashim Saha of Jirania Market, a CPI(M) worker was driven away from his house on 2nd March, 2023 immediately after the result of the assembly election was published. He took shelter in one of his relatives in Udaipur where he was engaged in painting works.
“On Tuesday, when Ashim Saha was going to his regular work in Matabari area, he came across a group of BJP workers of Jirania areas who were accompanying the Minister Sushanta Chowdhury to Tripureswari Temple. The BJP workers immediately got down from the vehicle, caught hold of Ashim Saha and mercilessly beat him up in broad daylight on the road. They left him to have died. As the Minister himself was present there and did not restrain his followers, it is understood, the Minister had direct indulgence in this crime. The shopkeepers and some other local people sent him to District hospital from where he was referred to Agartala. Now he is under treatment in IGM Hospital, Agartala,” said Chaudhury in his letter to DGP.
Demanding drastic action against the culprits involved in the attack on Asim Saha, Chaudhury named the four miscreants, namely, Ratan Saha of Baishyapara, , Rathindra Shil of Baishyapara , Jirania, Bijan Saha of Chittaranjan Palli and Biplab Saha of Chittaranjan Palli , Jirania and 5-6 other miscreants whom he did not name.
