Manik Sarkar sharpen attacks on BJP, appeals people to cast vote in favour LF-Cong candidates
The rigging bell starts blowing across the state to ensure the defeat of BJP in the February 16 assembly election and now, people through their united struggle will oust ‘fascistic’ BJP government democratically, said opposition leader Manik Sarkar.
Addressing two large poll gatherings of two CPI(M) candidates including Ramu Das for 13-Pratapgarh and Sudip Sarkar from 4-Barjala assembly constituency, Sarkar through his scathing attacks on ruling BJP said this time BJP will not get any success as people are now ready to stop the hijacking of votes.
Speaking in the poll rally held at Bankumari area under 13-Pratapgarh assembly seat, Sarkar said that after formation of BJP-IPFT government in 2018, the democratic rights of all people have been suppressed by BJP. “They destroyed the democratic spirit of the state and through their anarchy , a jungle raj prevails across the state and people of the state face violent attacks when they try to raise their voices against the oppression politics of BJP,” said Sarkar.
Sarkar with an appeal for all peace loving people to come together and counter the BJP in the state, under which, democracy, human rights, and the economy are under threat. The BJP needs to be defeated, not just for the state, but for the good of the nation,” Sarkar
BJP trying to set up one party rule and there will no voice of opposition parties and to establish their one party rule, BJP since first day of their government, attacking every constitutional structure of the country, said Sarkar and added that BJP has also intensified their attacks on media and till date 78 media persons were attacked along with continuous attacks on opposition supporters.
Now, people of the state vowed to oust this anti-people government and asked leaders of BJP over their pre-poll promises and what they have done in the last five years, said Sarkar and asked where are their 299 vision document commitments.
The people of the state never imagined over the present fascistic rule of BJP and people are also determined that they will not allow BJP to come back into power again, said Sarkar. He also alleged that the religious attacks on minorities have been sharpened during their rule.
Highlighting the attacks on opposition supporters and their party offices, Sarkar alleged that BJP has vitiated all elections in the state through their miscreant gangs and people were stopped and attacked, when they tried to cast their votes.
He said that considering the intensity of misrule of the BJP government and to respect the sentiments of people, the Left Front and Congress have divided 60 assembly seats to ensure the defeat of BJP.
He added: “Tripura may be a small state but we feel that a defeat for the BJP in our state will help immensely in the national fight against the BJP and the RSS. So it is better to say that we have come to an understanding with the Congress in some seats.”
He appeals to the people to stand together in the fight against BJP and should unite to protect the vote rigging of BJP to protect the democracy and to restore the rules of law in the state. If people are determined to protect their democratic rights, then BJP will not be able to stop them, said Sarkar and asked people to go to cast their votes in groups and should raise their voice if BJP tries to stop them.
Sarkar also expressed hope that both CPI(M) candidates will get more votes with a united face of Left Front and Congress.
During two election rallies, both CPI (M) candidates Ramu Das, Sudip Sarkar along with senior CPI (M) and Congress leaders were also present.
