In order to curb drug menaces and to restrain movements of drug users in public places, the Agartala city police led by SP (West) conducts massive raids across the city and arrests above 40 drug users.
Giving details of the sudden raids, the SP (West Tripura) Kiran Kumar said that during the past few days, the city police have received lots of complaints over disturbances and creating nuisance in public places like parks and ground in mainly evening time.
Based on the complaints, a large contingent of police forces raided in all public places of the city simultaneously and caught red handed above 40 drug users from Vivekananda stadium (Astable ground), Dim Sagar lake and other public places under jurisdiction of SDPO(Sadar), said Kumar.
He said that arrested youths are mainly drug users and they have also recovered a few vials of Brown Sugar and Heroin under their possessions.
Kumar added that from now onwards, the city police will continue their raids in all public places including parks, grounds and markets across the city to flash out drug user networks and a nuisance free environment for city dwellers.
