Medical negligence in Gomati district hospital claimed untimely death one police SI
Gross medical negligence reported against on-duty doctors posted at Gomati district hospital and relatives of a deceased police officer claimed that due to negligence, their patient has died without any treatment on Friday.
Sources said that one police Sub-Inspector (SI) Gouranga Debbarma (58) , posted at Raishyabari police station, came to his house at Udaipur’s Dwajanagar police station a couple days ago, who was suffering from high blood sugar.
On Friday morning, when he complained of heavy chest pain, the other inmates of the house shifted to Gomati district hospital’s emergency ward. But, the on-duty doctors were very reluctant and did not attend him despite repeated appeals from his relatives.
After one hours of request, the hospital staff admitted him and placed him on the floor of a ward and attended by one nurse, who set a saline on his hand and placed an Oxygen cylinder. But, unfortunately Gouranga Debbarma breathed his last.
The relatives of the deceased alleged that despite their repeated request none of the on-duty doctor attended him, who was suffering acute blood sugar and due to gross-medical negligence, their patient died untimely.
