In a gruesome incident held on Saturday midnight in Dhalai district of Tripura, one minor boy killed four members of his family, including mother and sister and two other family persons.

The horrific incident took place at Durai Shib Bari village under Kamalpur police station Dhalai district and within few hours of the incident, police arrested accused Supriya Debnath (15) on Sunday morning when he went to the market to sell a duck.

Police sources said that Supriya killed his grandfather Badal Debnath( 70), mother Samita Debnath( 32), sister Suparna Debnath(10) and aunty Rekha Deb (42) with an axe when the victims were sleeping late on Saturday night.

The horrific incident occurred at Durai Shib Bari village under Kamalpur police station in eastern Tripura's Dhalai district.

AIGP(Police Control) Jyotishman Das Chowdhury said that after commission of crime the accused buried all the victims' bodies in a pit near the courtyard of the house of the accused and fled away. After receiving the information police including Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dhalai district rushed to the spot.

He said that police have registered a specific case at Kamalpur police station under 302 of IPC and started investigation.

During investigation of the case using scientific and technical aid police are able to detain the accused person within a few hours of the incident for further legal action. Police added that investigation is in progress to unearth the motive of the crime.
