MSME summit in NER for international cooperation held at Agartala
A summit of MSMEs in NER for International Cooperation was organized in Agartala on Friday at Pragna Bhavan by the Tripura chapter of Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER).
The Chief Guest for the summit was Tinku Roy, Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports, Social Welfare, Education & Labour. The event brought together industry experts and stakeholders from various countries to explore collaboration opportunities in different sectors. Experts and speakers from Malaysia, Bhutan and Bangladesh participated in the summit and shared their insights and expertise in different areas of interest and cooperation. Participating and delivering his speech, Chief Guest, Minister Tinku Roy requested people to be job providers rather than a job seeker.
Mr. Abu Bakar and Abdul Rahman from the Westwood Group of Malaysia enlightened the audience on Agarwood processing and production, highlighting the potential for collaboration and knowledge exchange in this sector. Mr. Thinley Jamtsho, Chairman of the Tourism, Hotel, Restaurant, and Bar Association, Bhutan addressed the audience on the promising opportunities in the tourism sector and the potential for partnerships in promoting tourism in the North Eastern Region. Mr. Robiul Karim, Managing Director, the Investor Limited of Bangladesh, emphasized the importance of cooperation between Tripura and Bangladesh. He shared insights on potential areas of collaboration and the mutual benefits that can be derived from stronger economic ties. Mr. Soaib Mridha of Bangladesh highlighted the import and export potential and opportunities between India and Bangladesh, providing valuable information on leveraging these opportunities to expand business horizons, while Mr. Shansankh Tripathi from Adya Universal of Bangladesh shared valuable knowledge on agar processing, shedding light on the techniques and advancements in this industry.
The summit was also attended by Amit Deorah, Vice President, FINER, Smt. Ranjan Bhajanka, director, FINER and Surendra Chowkhani from FINER to further strengthen FINER’s presence in Agartala and the organization’s commitment to fostering collaboration and supporting the growth of MSMEs in the North Eastern Region and in Tripura. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and government officials, all of whom expressed their commitment to enhancing international cooperation and establishing lasting partnerships in order to unleash the full potential of the MSME sector in the region.
