Nadda releases poll manifesto with bunch of commitments including greater autonomy for ADC
Just a week before the February 16 assembly elections, the ruling BJP on Thursday released poll manifesto “Sankalp Patra” by the party’s national president JP Nadda with promises of restructure of ADC to provide greater autonomy and additional power.
After releasing the poll manifesto during a porgramme held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on Thursday, Nadda said that under the leadership of and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP and its governments is fully committed to the development of “Unnat Tripura-Shrestha Tripura”.
He said that PM initiated of HIRA, which means highways, internet, railways and airways, a new direction has been given to the development and growth of the entire Northeast and it is certain that BJP led coalition will once again form its government in Tripura , which would pave the way for continued growth and development of the state.
After the independence and during last 70 years, the people of the country new saw that a political comes at their doorstep with report card of their performance, now BJP goes to every door of the people with the report card and urge people to cast their votes in favour of BJP candidates based on the performances, said Nadda.
He said that Communist and the Congress party governments in Tripura were infamous for Bandhs, blockade and emergency. But, today under the BJP{ government , the state is known for peace, prosperity and harmony. In the past 5 years, the double-engine government has taken Tripura out of desperation and poor governance and taken the state on the path of prosperity, growth and development.
In 2018 was the year which proved to be an exit and entry door on several issues and from exit door, the BJP government hrew left extremism, corruption, commission, criminalization and levy politics out of Tripura, said Nadda and added that their government welcomed and brought development, peace, harmony, development, progress in the state with slogan of “Nai Umang-Nai Udan and Unnati Tripura-Shrestha Tripura.”
Nadda also alleged that when Congress and Communist and other opposition parties release their election manifesto, their own leaders and party workers do not take it seriously. Then why should the people take these parties seriously? “But the BJP’s Sankalp POatra is our commitment and our vision for the people of Tripura.” Nadda also said that whatever they promised , they will deliver and will do whatever is necessary for the overall welfare of the state.
He said after BJP if returns to power in the February 16 assembly polls, it would establish the Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Tribal University, provide cooked food three times a day at Rs 5 per meal under the PM Kisan -- increase the financial assistance from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per annum, double the per-family annual cap from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and housing to all registered beneficiaries.
Nadda also announced setting up a Regional Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Agartala.
He said that the state has developed a lot and announced that the BJP would take Tripura on the path of DTH - development, transformation and harmony.
The manifesto promised a Balika Somriddhi Scheme, a bond of Rs 50,000 to each family belonging to the financially weaker sections on the birth of a girl and Mukhyamantri Konya Atmonirbhor Yojana to provide free scooty (two wheeler) to meritorious college-going female students.
The BJP also promised to provide two free LPG cylinders to all the beneficiaries under the PM Ujjwala Yojana, distribute land pattas to all eligible landless citizens, provide affordable housing to all registered beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin and Urban by 2025.
The 'Sankalp Patra 2023' promised to provide free rice and wheat to all eligible PDS beneficiaries every month and provide edible oil at a subsidized rate, four times a year through the Public Distribution Systems (PDS).
BJP also promised to restructure the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to provide it with greater autonomy and additional legislative, executive, administrative, and financial powers, within the framework of the proposed 125th Constitution Amendment Bill.
They also promised, under the proposed Matsya Sahayak Yojana -- annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000 to all fishermen, provide access to tap water in all households under the Jal Jeevan Mission by 2024, invest an amount of Rs 500 crore to provide collateral-free loans of up to Rs 10 lakh to MSMEs and Entrepreneurs with a 100 percent credit guarantee cover.
The party also assured to provide smartphones to around 50,000 meritorious college-going students under Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogayog Yojana, and launch the Tripura Road Maintenance and Upgradation Programme with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore to upgrade and modernise road infrastructure in the state over the next 5 years.
In the next 5 years the BJP government will bring investments worth over Rs 50,000 crores. For faster economic development of the state and the entire Northeast region the BJP government will make Tripura a vibrant economy. Special economic zones will be created in Tripura. To strengthen the basic infrastructure of the state, the government will invest Rs 600 crores from the Tripura Gram Unnat Fund.
Nadda also said the government will also start religious tourism for senior citizens of the state which will facilitate their visits to Ayodhya, Varanasi, Ujjain etc for which subsidy will be given in train travel and Laos for travel and stay. The BJP government will also set up SD Burman Performing Arts Academy in the state which will focus on making the folk dance, songs, theater and culture more popular.
Establish Sachin Debbarman Performing Arts Academy to focus on popularising the state's folk dance, music and theatre, expand the tourism economy of Tripura by investing Rs 1,000 crore and launch the Tripura Tourism Skill Mission to provide skill development training and employment to one lakh people, are the other promises made in the BJP election manifesto.
