Nath inaugurates PG courses in six-degree colleges
The Postgraduate courses in English and Bengali language introduced in 6 (six)colleges in the state and Education Minister ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday.
Nath while addressing the central inaugural programme of the PG courses held at Women’s College Matangini Pritilata auditorium in the presence of other guests and academicians, staff and students said that Tripura has a quality education hub in the North-eastern region. So many NAAC-accredited colleges are functional in the state to impart the best education to the aspirants' students. A women's University will start functioning in the state from next year, and Buddhist University is also being started in Sabroom next.
Besides, endeavours are being taken to start 4 more privately managed universities in the state.
The Master Degree courses in MA (English and Bengali) has been started in six-degree colleges of the state including in MBB College, Women’s College, Belonia College, Netaji Subhash memorial college in Udaipur, Ramkrishna college in Kailasahar and in Dharmanagar degree college.
The MBB College have seat capacity of 30 student each in English and Bengali, 15 Bengali and 20 in English at Women’s college, Belonia college have 20 each in English and Bengali, Udaipur college 10 each in both subjects, in Kailasahar college 10 in Bengali and 9 in English and Dharmanagar government degree college have seat capacity of 11 for Bengali and 9 for MA (English) course.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath also said that students are the backbone of a nation as well as the future of the country. Hence, they have to be educated with a proactive mindset with true nationalism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the country to make enormous progress in all directions and the Tripura government is abiding by the directive of the visionary Prime Minister to achieve holistic development in the education sector. The present government is confident that the students of the state must be successful if they take advantage of the infrastructural development made in the state in the field of education, he added. Special job-oriented training is also given to all candidates to crack competitive exams for IAS, IFS, IPS etc . At present there 25-degree colleges are imparting higher education to the students out of them 21-degree colleges have already been brought under NAAC accreditation.
In a tiny state like Tripura so many educational institutions including IIIT, National Forensic Science university, National Law University and many more universities in the pipeline , said Nath and extended his best wishes to the students for their future endeavours.
