No opinion, exit polls till Feb 27
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura said that no opinion poll or the exit poll cannot be conducted in any kind of media including print, electronic and web media houses till February 27.
Speaking with media persons CEO, Tripura, Kiran Gitte said that as per the decision of the Election Commission of India (ECI), no media houses can print or publish any kind of opinion or exit polls till 7 PM of February 27, 2023.
He said that all political parties can publish their advertisement a day before the poll and on the day of polling with prior permission from the Media Certification and monitoring Committee (MCMC). He also said that after 4 pm of February 14, there will be no permission for campaigning or any panel discussion related to poll in all electronic and print, because after 4 PM the ‘silent period’ starts till the end of polls on February 16.
