One arrested with pistol, 46 rounds during Naka checking

The capital city police on Tuesday evening arrested an arms smuggler and recovered one pistol, two magazines and 46 live rounds from Usha Bazar Naka point.
With strict instruction of tight security measures across the state for free and fair elections by the ECI, the state police has intensified surveillance in every entry and exit points and ruing regular checking of vehicles at the Chainaihani area of Usha Bazar under Airport police, the police along with Central Arms Police Forces (CAPFs) detained two suspected cars.
Police sources said that a group of miscreants were boarded in two cars and a scotty, but during the checking at Naka point, few managed to escape from the spot, while, security forces managed to detain one person. In the course of checking his vehicle, police recovered one country made pistol, two magazines and 46 live rounds under the possession of one Biman Das (46) of Gandhigram area under the same police station.
Police said that miscreant Biman Das was a fugitive arms smuggler, who was wanted in a specific arms case registered at West Agartala police station. Police also seized two cars and a scotty.
