Panchayat bodies are now turns into centre point for development, says Jishnu
Altogether 15 new buildings of Gram Panchayats and internet connectivity at 108 Panchayats and Village Committees (VCs) launched by the Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Friday through virtually.
The Deputy Chief Minister also unveiled the report card of the RD department for the performance since the 2018-19 financial years.
While, speaking in the programme at Civil Secretariat said that the government wants to make every Gram Panchayat as the centre point for development as these rural bodies play an important role for overall development of the state.
He said that since the first day, the present government has stressed its maximum efforts for infrastructure development as the government believes that constructive plans for development always take place from rural bodies, not from secretariat.
And to fulfill the target of the government, now Panchayat bodies are equipped with modern technologies , which will cater the needs of the village population to give different services to the government, said Dev Varma.
Criticizing the rule of previous governments, Dev Varma said that earlier Panchayat bodies were the centre point for politics, now these are the centre points for development. He also said that the present government is not only creating infrastructures, but also equipped with modern technologies to provide people oriented services at the doorstep of villagers.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed importance over the use of modern technologies in rural bodies and the present state government working round the clock to fulfill the dreams of the Prime Minister.
He said that similar initiatives have been taken to develop the rural bodies in ADC areas and without developing ADC, the overall progress of the state will not be possible.
Speaking in the programme, the special secretary of Rural Development department Sandip Ra Rathore said that under ‘Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhijan’, the union government has sanctioned the construction of 15 new Panchayat buildings in 2020-21 and 29 more in 2021-22 and till date, the construction of 15 Panchayat buildings has been completed and the construction works of remaining buildings are going on speedily.
During the virtual inauguration programme, director of RD department Devananda Reang, MDC Bhumikananda Reang and general manager of BSNL Mukesh Kumar Gupta were also present.
