Patal, Jayanti appointed as state ministers ranks in separate organizations

The state government has appointed BJP leader Patal Kanya Jamatia and the IPFT leader Jayanti Debbarma as chairpersons of two statutory bodies with a rank of a minister of state.
Both are the defeated women candidates of the BJP-IPFT alliance and were made chairpersons of two separate corporations and commissions for the purpose of empowering women in the state.
Jayanti Debbarma, daughter of former state minister and IPFT founder president late NC Debbarma, has been appointed as the Chairperson of Tripura Child Rights Protection Commission. She contested the assembly elections from Asharambari constituency on IPFT party ticket, but defeated. On the other hand, BJP vice-president Patal Kanya Jamatia has been appointed as the chairperson of Tripura Rehabilitation Plantation Corporation Limited (TRPC). She will also get the status of Minister of State. Patalakanya Jamatia had contested from the Ampinagar constituency in the assembly elections, but was defeated. The appointment was announced on Friday in two separate notifications issued by the state government.
