Giving details, SDPO(Sadar) Ajoy Kumar Das said that based on the confessional statement of arrested drug paddler Soumyabrata Banik, who was arrested on Monday from Math Choumohani area under East Agartala police station with Brown Sugar, police on Tuesday arrested another drug paddler identified as Sujit Bhowmik of Jagaharimura area, who was with his Scotty moves every corner of the city and delivered banned and contraband tablets and cough syrups to their customers.
Police based on the information have laid traps in different parts of the city and managed to arrest him from Jail road and in the course of search operation, police recovered large quantities of SP tablets and Eskuf cough syrup under his possession, said Das and added that police also seized his scotty. Arrested paddler Sujit Bhowmik will produce before a local court on Wednesday with police remand appeal to unearth the entire nexus of drug smugglers and their chain of network.
