Retired police officer Manindra Ghosh passes away
Retired sub-inspector of Tripura police and much decorated police officer Manindra Ghosh (74) breathed his last on Sunday morning in his home at Ghosh Para in Aralia area of Agartala.
He had been suffering from old age ailments for a long time. He is survived by his two sons and married daughter who were present as he expired this morning at home after undergoing a hip-joint surgery in the ILS hospital recently. Having joined service in Tripura police Manindra Ghosh distinguished himself by responsibly discharging his duties in various police stations of the state. He played a particularly stellar role in the fight against insurgency in the hilly interiors of the state and was achieved many rewards in the first decade of this century. Since retirement in the year 2009 Manindra Ghosh had devoted himself to spiritual work as a dedicated disciple of the ‘Sat Sangh’ Ashram and led an austere life till he fell ill of Alzheimer and other old age diseases.
His eldest son Subrata Ghosh is a well known senior journalist of the state working in ‘Northeast Colours’ English daily and also running his popular news website ‘neherald.com’ (Northeast Herald). His younger son Debabrata Ghosh is an eminent software engineer and currently an associate vice president of a US Healthcare giant posted at Los Angeles in California. His daughter Anamika, the youngest offspring, is happily married to an engineer, resident in Noida near Delhi. Manindra Ghosh was a widower who had lost his wife way back in 2013. His death today has cast a shadow of grief in the police circles and in entire Aralia area as many people joined his funeral procession and were witnesses to the cremation.
