Road mishap: Two injured, angry people thrash accused driver
The growing road accidents in the stretches of national highway-208 increasing daily and on Wednesday after a road mishap, one person sustained injuries, but after the mishap angry local people mercilessly had beaten the accused driver.
Sources said that police have also set up Naka points in the stretches of NH-208 and on Wednesday morning three persons including two bike riders and a pillion rider suffered injuries, when two speeding motorbikes collided face on.
Later, in the afternoon in another road mishap, one Rubini Debbarma (65) suffered critical injuries, when a speeding auto-rickshaw dashed him from his back at Bachaibari area of Khowai.
After the accident, some angry local people chased the accused auto-rickshaw and at a point, the rickshaw driver lost his control and the auto-rickshaw turned around in the middle of the road.
Angry local people pulled out the driver and mercilessly thrashed him. As a result auto driver Tapash Nama Das (19) suffered a fracture in his hand and deep injuries in his head.
After the thrashing incident, police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured auto driver to Khowai hospital.
Sources said that both injured Rubini Debbarma and auto-rickshaw driver Tapash Nama Das were referred to GB Hospital due to their critical injuries.
