Target to cultivate Aman paddy in 1.48 lakh hectare area has been taken, Ratan Lal Nath

During the Aman season, a target has been taken to cultivate Aman paddy in an area of 1 lakh 48 thousand hectares across the state. In order to meet this target, a special programme called 'Chief Minister Integrated Crop Management Programme' has been undertaken by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
For this, the state government will spend an additional 65 crore 77 lakh rupees. Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Ratan Lal Nath informed this in a press conference organized in his office room at the Secretariat on Monday.
He also said that usually 3 thousand 200 kg of aman paddy is yielded per hectare, but this year the target of additional yield of 500 kg of aman paddy per hectare has been taken.
The Agriculture Minister also said that the present state government has given more importance to doubling the income of farmers and increasing the production of agricultural crops. Since the formation of the present government, 1 lakh 71 thousand metric tons of paddy has been purchased from the farmers at minimum support price.
