Three thieves involved with stealing at Math Chowmuhani arrested, cash amount recovered
Within 24-hours of brought-daylight stolen incident at the house of one advocate at the thickly populated Math Chowmuhani area of Agartala, police arrested three thieves and recovered a part of stolen money under their possession on Wednesday.
Giving details officer-in-charge (OC) of East Agartala police station, Sanjit Sen said that after the incident of theft , reported by one advocate Biplab Bhattacharjee on Tuesday, a police team immediately rushed to the spot and recovered some CCTV footage from his nearby houses.
Based on the footage, police have identified one infamous thief, identified as Rahul Das of Indranagar area, who was seen moving in the lane of Biplab Bhattacharjee’s house and in front of his gate.
On the midnight of Tuesday, police team managed to arrest Rahul Das from rented house in Indranagar area and had also recovered some stolen cash amount under his possession, said OC Sen and added that based on the interrogation statement arrested thieve leader, police on Wednesday morning has arrested two more his associates identified as Binay Saha of Karbook and Amit Roy of Srinagar area, who were also stayed in rented houses at Indranagar area. He said that all the trio thieves had involved many stolen and snatching incidents and had also passed jail terms on many occasions.
Sen said that a total of Rs. 1, 36,735 money under their possession and police has also forwarded them in a local court with police remand appeals to get details of committed crimes.
