Tripura team wins the NE Zonal Round of RB190 Quiz, will compete in National level
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducted the third Zonal Round of the RB190 Quiz at Hotel Radisson Blu, Guwahati on Friday. The RB190Quiz has been conducted nationwide for undergraduate students as part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating 90 years of the Reserve Bank. The zonal round witnessed enthusiastic participation from the state level winners of Assam. Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Tripura.
In the North East Zonal round of the Quiz tournament, Tripura team, comprising Shreya Modak and Shubhajit Chakraborty from Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya, Gomati district won the 1st position and secured its place in the National Round of the RB190 Quiz, to be held on December 6, 2024, in Mumbai. In the national round, the Tripura team will compete against teams qualifying from other zones.
In the NE Zonal round competition, the teams from NIT Silchar, Assam and NIT, Shillong. Meghalaya secured the second and third places, respectively. The top three teams won prizes of Rs 5 lakh, Rs. 4 lakh, and Rs. 3 lakh, respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Arnab Kumar Chowdhury. Executive Director, RBI. highlighted that the RB190Quiz while commemorating the Reserve Bank of India's 90th anniversary also aims to encourage students to understand RBI's critical role in shaping the financial system. He emphasized the importance of financial literacy and said that a financially aware young population can be a powerful multiplier in propagating financial awareness among others.
