Tripura to provide KAMCO machineries to farmers in affordable prices
The present government has extended the farmers facilities and scheme benefits to every house of farmers and they need not have to stand in long queues to get the government’s benefits, said Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy.
Attended the launching ceremony of agreement made between Tripura Horticulture Corporation Ltd and Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation Ltd as C & F agent of KAMCO agri-machinery products during a programme held at Pragna Bhawan in Agartala on Thursday, the Minister said that the Agriculture department working round the clock to ensure farm benefits to every farmers of the state with an initiative to reach seeds, fertilizers , insecticides and farm machineries at their doorstep.
Singha Roy addressing the gathering said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed to double the income of farmers in the present financial year and now the results are coming. He said that the state government to fulfil the dreams of the Prime Minister are also working in this direction and under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, every farmer is getting Rs. 6000 allowances every year.
Now, farmers of Tripura along with other parts of the country are getting farm loans through Kisan credit cards, said the Minister and appealed to KAMCO to start a service centre in every district of the state and a dealership point in every corner of the state.
The Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation Ltd (KAMCO) has appointed the Tripura Horticulture Corporation Limited as C and F agent for KAMCO products after signing a agreement among KAMCO’s managing director V Shivramkrishnan and managing director of Tripura Horticulture Corporation Ltd, Dr A K Nandi. As per the agreement, now KAMCO will sell their agricultural products including power tiller and other machineries to Tripura Horticulture Corporation Ltd at a wholesale rate and the corporation will provide the same to farmers at an affordable price.
The chairman of Tripura Horticulture Corporation Ltd and MLA Sudhanshu Das said that the corporation has taken initiatives to set up a cashew nut garden in Machmara area of North Tripura district.
Speaking in the programme KAMCO’s managing director said that the climate, soil and water of the state are very effective for large scale agri-productions. He said that KAMCO’s branches are also available in Africa and South Asian countries along with all states of India.
During the programme, the vice-chairman of Tripura Horticulture Corporation Ltd, Nabendhu Bhattacharjee MD Dr A K Nandi and a few other dignitaries also delivered their addresses.
