Tripura Youth reached Everest base camp by bicycle, third Indian creates this record
A youth from Agartala’s Chandrapur area, Bapi Debnath created a record when he cycled up to Mount Everest base camp as first Bengali youth and third Indian, who have climbed up to the Everest Base camp by cycling.
A total of eight persons across the world could achieve this rare achievement.
Bapi Debnath alias Neel, a former student of Umakanta Academy, Agartala started his journey on May 21 last with a single gear bicycle from Kolkata and reached the destination on July 14, 2024 via Nepal.
As the news of his breathtaking achievement reached the state, people applauded for his rare achievement.
Bapi, who lives in Kolkata for job purposes, has fulfilled his dream by conquering and reaching the base camp of Everest through by-cycle.
Through a social media video, Bapi said he started his journey started on May 21, 2024 from Kolkata single-gear bicycle and during his journey faced many obstacles and on July 14, finally reached his destination.
Covering a distance of 2,100 kilometers in his bicycle, Bapi’s expedition took him through the diverse landscapes of the Himalayas.
Overwhelmed by his achievement, Bapi dedicated the record moment to the people of both Tripura and India.
