Two children charred to death during sleeping

In a heart wrenching  incident two children were burnt to death in their own house after fire broke out from an electric short-circuit at East Kupilong village of Bagma under Gomati district on Sunday afternoon.

The agonizing incident took place at about 3 o’clock in the house of one Shibu Debbarma in Kupilong village   RadhaKishorepur police station. The village is only  6 km away from the lake city Udaipur but the broken and dire condition of the road fastened the tragic culmination. 

Two children were burnt inside the house before the fire engine reached the spot. The tragic loss of the lives of two children cast a shadow of mourning in the area.  The dark-tragedy incident occurred when their parents were out of the house for their livelihood works. Shibu Debbarma, the father of two children, was working somewhere while their mother went to the forest to collect firewood, leaving both the children in the house under a locked door  sleeping until she arrived. Suddenly there was a flame and fire started to engulf the house built up in a mud wall with a GCI sheet roof. The neighbours rushed to the spot and shouted for help after sending information to the Udaipur fire station. The village  Purba Kopilang area is only 6 km away but the dilapidated road condition did not allow the fire engine to reach in time and no sooner did the Fire Service staff reach the spot, than the two little children namely Anita Debbarma(4) and Rakesh Debbarma (3) charred to death .
