Two days TWJA’s conference, Workshop ends
The two days long annual conference and workshop by Tripura Working Journalist Association (TWJA) held at Bhagat Singh Youth hostel in Agartala concluded on Sunday.
On Sunday morning at 9 AM, the educational workshop started, where veteran journalists from Kolkata Mrs. Snigdha Mitra Mukherjee and Mrs. Jumur Datta Gupta participated in the inaugural part of the workshop to highlight different issues on journalism.
Later, in the workshop the Member secretary Tripura State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), Sanjoy Bhattacharjee and director of Tripura AIDS Control Society (TACS) Dr Shankar Das highlighted the growing drug menaces across Tripura and rule of media persons to curb the menace.
Through informatics discussion, Dr Shankar Das sharing his long years experiences in medical service across Tripura elaborated how the injectable drug users became easy victims of HIV and AIDS infections.
He also gave a detailed discussion over the rule of media persons to spread awareness over growing drug menace and over concrete rule of media persons to control the drug trafficking and its smuggling network.
After lunch break, the SP of West Tripura district Shankar Debnath in presence of TWJA’s president Dhruba Ranjan Sen through interactive speech highlighted the moral policing and also shared his views with participating journalists and photo-journalists over cordial relationship with police and media for better society.
During the two days programme, journalists and photo-journalists from all districts and different subdivisions of the state participated. Later, in the concluding part of the two days session, TWJA has formed a five members Women Cell, said general secretary of TWJA Sunil Debnath.
