Two road mishaps in Agartala’s flyover, Dharmanagar, 6 injured
In two separate road mishaps in Agartala and Dharmanagar, six persons including a woman sustained critical injuries and were admitted to hospitals.
Police sources said that on Monday after one motorbike collided face on with an auto-rickshaw at Agartala’s lone flyover and after being crushed, the bike rider had also dashed with another Maruti Eco car. As a result, the bike rider suffered severe injuries and after the mishap, firefighters and police personnel shifted him to GB Hospital in critical condition.
Injured bike rider was identified as Shankar Chowdhury (55) of Ramnagar was admitted at the trauma centre of GB Hospital and at present his condition is stated to be very critical due to his head injuries.
Police managed to arrest the accused auto-rickshaw driver, but were unable to detain the accused Maruti Eco car driver.
In another road accident, when two speeding motorbikes collided face on Sunday evening at Dighalbak area of Dharmanagar under North Tripura district. As a result four persons including a pedestrian , identified as Mina Banerjee (45) has also suffered injuries.
After the clash among two speeding bikes, police and firefighters shifted all injured persons to a local hospital . They were identified as Bishal Debnath (26), Pradip Das (20) Satyadeep Malakar (18), Abhijit Malakar (22) and the woman pedestrian Mina Banerjee.
Police said that the accident occurred due to reckless and speeding driving by both bike riders.
