Two youths killed in two separate road mishaps
In two tragic road mishaps, two youths were killed by two separate vehicles at Bishalgarh and Udaipur areas of Tripura on Sunday.
Police sources said that a youth identified as Lokenath Shil of Chechurimai village under Sepahijala district was standing with his motorcycle at the Bypass road of Bishalgarh near SDPO office on Sunday evening and speaking with his mobile phone.
Suddenly, a speeding truck (AS-11-BC-5864) dashed him from his back and crushed him. Immediately, police personnel standing at that road rushed to the spot and informed the firefighters.
Firefighters shifted him to Bishalgarh hospital, where a visiting doctor declared him dead.
Police sources added that local police managed to arrest accused truck driver, Jakir Hussain of Silchar (Assam) and has also seized an ill-fated vehicle.
In another road mishap held at the Udaipur-Rajarbag area of the national highway portion, one Scooty rider was crushed to death by an unknown vehicle in the early morning of Sunday.
Police sources said that on Sunday morning an unknown vehicle in heavy speed dashed a scooty rider, identified as Sumit Paul (45) of Rajarbag area of Udaipur town and compressed his head.
Some pedestrians noticed the incident and informed firefighters and they recovered the body of the scooty rider and shifted it to Gomati district hospital for autopsy. Police added that they have registered a case and started investigation to identify the accused vehicle and its driver.
