Unorganized workers play key role in boosting state's GDP: CM
Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Saturday emphasized that unorganized workers in various sectors have a special role in boosting the state’s GDP.
"Unorganized workers in various sectors play a significant role in the development of the rural economy. They also have a special role in increasing the GDP of the state," said Dr Saha.
He said this while visiting Kumorpara in the Nandan Nagar area, near the capital, on Saturday, ahead of the upcoming Diwali festival.
Dr Saha mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasized the importance of self-reliance.
"Various projects have been undertaken to make Tripura self-reliant. I have visited here last year and the year before, and I stopped by 2-3 houses in Kumorpara. With Diwali approaching, they are now making clay lamps in a modern way. Previously, the potters of Kumorpara sold handmade clay items, but now they are producing various products with the assistance of machines," he said.
Dr Saha expressed his happiness in visiting the area and purchasing items, including lamps, for Diwali from them.
